Holo Blue Fan Brush Mani

Hi dear readers !

I love fan brush manicures. They are so easy and quick to create but they can give you a stunning result :)
This time I did it in blue, using holographic polishes for some extra bling. The wonderful Tristam from A England was my inspiration ^^

I used A England Tristam as the base for the index and pinky.
The other nails were painted with two coats of Ulta Bam Blue Zled, then I added a small amounf of  England Princess Tears with the fan brush. That polish, applied that way, was so ligh that you almost can't notice it, but it really added a lot of sparkle to the manicure.
Finally, I added A England Tristam on the middle and ring fingers with the fan brush technique to create those stripes.

I loved everything about this manicure :) I think I found the right combo with those two shades of blue. And holo is always a good choice, right ? ;)

If you want to know how to achieve this easy look, you can check this Youtube tutorial made by Simple Nail Art Designs. The great thing in that technique is it doesn't hve to be perfect to look fab :)

Do you like it ?

I'll see you monday for the first day of the 33DC !
Have a nice day !

Hello !

Pastel Saran Wrap Nails

Hi dear readers !

I have a quick post for you today :)
As you liked my Ice Cones mani from last week, I thought you'd like to see the saran wrap nails without any deco on it. In my opinion, it was very pretty and I loved it a lot, so I hope you'll enjoy as much as I did :)

A small reminder of the polishes I used: the base is China Glaze Snow, the secondary colors from index to pinky are Eyeko Lilac Polish, Essie Navigate Her, Ulta Bam Blue Zled and China Glaze Something Sweet.

A fellow reader asked me for a tutorial for this effect, I'd advice to check Nailed It's tutorial. It's clear and simple to follow, you can't get wrong with it :)

I hope you like it :)

Have a nice day !

Hello !

Fake Tattoos Review: Ice Cream Skittles

Hi dear readers !

Here's the second part of my Fake Tattoos review !
This time I chose the small and cute ice cream designs. They come in three different sizes, some are colored and some are not. I used them all so you can see how they look over some colored polish :)

Matching these little cones with pastel colors was an evidence, but I didn't want to stop there and had to do some simple nail art. I chose the Saran Wrap technique for these.

I started with a white base (China Glaze Snow) and did did the saran technique using the following polishes: Eyeko Lilac Polish, Essie Navigate Her, Ulta Bam Blue Zled, China Glaze Something Sweet. I also put some yellow on my thumb (Orly Lemonade) but I didn't capture it. Honestly, pale yellow over white wouldn't have looked good with my camera ;)

After my saran was dry, I applied the tattoos. Just as the birds and trees I used before, they were very easy to use and I didn't meet any problem. I had to be careful to place the decals as I wanted them, but as you can see it didn't turn bad :)
The colored decals on my ring finger turned really well, they were not modified by the blue base. The ice cone on my index had a very light green color that doesn't really show on my pics. It was more visible in real life, but still a bit hidden by the purple under it.

For a more complete review of the Fake Tattoos, you can check my previous post !
For more information about these funny decals, please check their website or Facebook page:

Did you like it ? Would you like to see my pastel saran nails on their own, without any deco ? If so, I'll post them next week :)

Have a nice day !

Hello !

Polka Dots Stipes Manicure

Hi dear readers !

Some weeks ago I told you that I really wanted to improve my use of the dotting tools, and I finally achieved a dotted manicure that I was proud of !

I saw this idea on Kayla Shevonne's blog, but the original manicure comes from a Youtube tutorial and was made by Pack A Punch Polish. As I'm not really into Youtube, I didn't know about that girl before, but trust me, you should really give her channel a visit :)

I used a combo that I love a lot for this, grey and purple !

I started with China Glaze Recycle as my base, then I added a coat of Seche Vite to make it dry faster.
I created sections on my nails, using striping tape, and made dots in each section, using different sizes of dotting tools and three shades of purple: Ulta Celebutante, Catrice Lucky in Lilac and Catrice Lavenderlicious.
I removed the striping tape and finished with a last coat of Seche Vite to seal the manicure.

When it come to capturing purples, I hate my camera, it does a real bad job and the colors were really more vibrant in real life. The lightest purple didn't appear white as well :)
But that's the problem with purple, a lot of cameras can't "see" it ...

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did :)

Have a nice day !

Hello !

Pastel Galaxy Nails

Hi there !

I hope you're all doing well :) It's very cold now here, it gets colder and colder each day ... This morning it was -10°C, I didn't want to leave the home haha ! (but obviously, I *had*to)
My hands are suffering from this, they are totally dry, my nails started to peel and I broke three of them yesterday. I'll give them some intensive care !

I did my first galaxy nails not so long ago, and the pastel version was on my to-do list since then !
I love the pastel galaxy nails, they are so cute :)
I finally gave them a try last week, and here they are !

Sadly, it was really hard to capture, it was lovely in real life but the colors here look a bit faded :(

I'm really happy with how they looked :)
At the end of the sponging process, I didn't like it, something was missing but I didn't know what. I searched for some pastel galaxy nails on Google and found out what my problem was: most of those manicures include a hint of yellow or gold ! I added some and it really brought my galaxy to life :)

Here's what I used:
The base is OPI Rumple's Wiggin (two coats)
Sponged in the same order: China Glaze Snow, Essence Sure Azure, Essence Enchanted Fairy, Ulta Double Mint, Orly Lemonade.
I made some dots with China Glaze Snow and a thin dotting tool.
Then I sponged some medium holo glitters in random spots (Wet 'n Wild Kaleidoscope) and added one coat of China Glaze Wireless. Sealed with Seche Vite, and there it is :)

I hope you like it !

Bonus pic: the cast of the characters !
Have a nice day :)

Hello !

Monkey See Monkey Do: Spring Pattern

Hi dear readers !

As I told you yesterday, I joined the Monkey See, Monkey Do group. This means I'll do manicures inspired (or copied) by another nail artist I admire each monday (well, I'll try to do it each monday but I might not have always time to do it :p )
For my first MSMD, I wanted to recreate a manicure from Emily's blog. I've been following her for a long time, we even became pen friends and I love to discuss with her. I wanted to recreate a mix & match mani as she often does, but finally my eyes stopped on a spring manicure she did last year.
Here's the original:
And here's my version:

Where Emily painted her flowers by herself, I cheated an added some water decals (from Ebay). Honestly, I tried to paint flowers on a tip and I need more skill, so I chose the easy way, but I still like the result :)
As Emily and I both live in Belgium, I should take lessons with her haha !

Here's how I did:
I painted the base color, two coats of Ulta Bam-Blue-Zled. I added the white stripes with an Essence Tip Painter, then added silver glitter with China Glaze Tinsel and a thin liner brush. Finally, I added the water decals as an accent.
You obviously won't notice it, but I sealed the nail art with Essence's scented top coat, I wanted to try it :) It's slightly scented, not like real fruits but something more chemical, like fruity bubblegum. It's really pleasant :)

I love the MSMD idea, as my long days at work block my inspiration most of the time ! It's a challenge to recreate someone elses' mani, and also a  kind of hommage I'll give to every nail blogger that will inspire me :)

What do you think ? Do you like it ?

Have a nice day ^^

Quick post: Splatter Manicure

Hi dear readers :)

I hope your weekend is fine !
I have a very quick post for you today. I love splatter manicures since I discovered them and I made a few ones. This one turned out to be one of my faves, unfortunately I only got one good picture of it ><
For this one, I used my favourite white polish, China Glaze Snow, as a base. Then I applied the other colors with a straw :)
I used Ulta CelebutanteColor Club Gossip Column and another blue shade but I'm sorry I don't remember which one it was. My memory is so poor ! :p
I also added one coat of China Glaze Wireless but it was a bit too discreet.

That's all for today :) I know it's not a lot but I'm leaving right now for some shopping :p

Did you like that ?
Have you ever tried splatter manicure ? I'd like to see yours, feel free to leave a link in the comment section !
For a tutorial, check The PolishAholic's blog :)

Have a nice day ^^

Ulta Bam Blue Zled

Hi sweeties !

I hope you're all fine :)
Finally i'm able to write "live posts" here, as i have a Wifi spot with a good internet connection :p (And some free time before i go to the beach !)

Yesterday I was in Barcelona and bought a lot of nail polish ! I chose some great shades from Flormar, Kiko, BeYu, all brands that can't be found in Belgium ... I took some quick pics with the iPhone, so if you want to see them, it's on my Facebook page, here

On to the polish, i'll show you one i can't either get in Belgium. I won this polish from Ulta in Karen's giveaway some month ago. She's the owner of Frazzle and Aniploish, go visit her :D
Ulta Bam Blue Zled (what a funny name ^^) is a very sotf periwinkle blue. Of course it reminded me of China Glaze's Secret Peri-Winkle but it's really lighter. I'll make a comparison when i'm back home :)

The brush was thick and flat, the application was easy. I got this result with two  coats and didn't use top coat.
The drying time is average, i can't really say how long it stays on nails because right after these pics i made a nail art attempt which failed and i had to remove all :p

This is really a pretty shade, i think it's more easy to wear than Secret Peri-Winkle of your skin tends to be reddish when it's too cold or too hot, like mine.

Tomorrow will finally be a Pink Wednesday, i found something for you in my archives ;)

Have a nice day :)

Ulta polish can be found in Ulta Stores in the USA. Don't know the price (but read about a 2$ sale) and don't know if they are available online somewhere for non-US residents ...
