Holo Purple Saran Wrap

Hi dear readers !

So, I'm already back from holidays ! They were very short this year but I didn't really have the choice, and it's better than nothing :)
We had a nice, warm and sunny weather and enjoyed the beach, small cities around and sangria haha :)
I broke some nails, but that's the price to pay for spending your days in the sea and sand, right ? ;)

On to today's nails, I made them simple but lovely with a purple and holo saran combo :)

I used Color Club Wild at Heart as the base and Eyeko Lilac Polish as the second color of my Saran Wrap.
I also added a twist with that Konad pattern I love so much from plate m70 with white Konad polish.

Needless to say I loved that combo, purple, holo and saran in a manicure can only be a winner to me haha ;)

Hello !

Et voilà, je suis déjà de retour de vacances ! Elles furent courtes cette année, mais je n'avais pas vraiment le choix, et puis c'est toujours mieux que rien :)
On a eu un superbe temps, chaud mais pas trop, et ensoleillé. On a pu profiter de la plage, des villages voisins et de la sangria lol :D
Je me suis aussi cassé quelques ongles, mais c'est un bon prix à payer pour rêvasser dans l'eau et le sable, non ? ;)

Passons aux ongles du jour, simples mais jolis grâce à un combo de holo, violet et saran wrap !
J'ai utilisé Wild at Heart de Color Club en base, et Lilac Polish d'Eyeko comme seconde couleur de mon saran wrap.
J'ai pimenté un peu le tout avec ce motif Konad que j'aime tant de la plaque m70 et du vernis Konad blanc.

Inutile de dire que j'ai adoré le résultat, du violet, du holo et du saran dans une seule manucure c'est forcément un combo gagnant pour moi ;)

Blue, Beige & Gold Saran Wrap

What you'll see here today is one of my favorite manicure ever ! That's it :D
I was soooo happy to see the result, I loved to wear it. I can say I'm a bit proud of it haha :)

So, let's see what I've done, then I'll tell you which colors I used ;)

You guessed it by the title, I had this result with the Saran Wrap technique, though I worked a bit differently this time.

I started with the beige base using Kiko 319. Once it was dry, I made little balls out of my saran wrap, dabbed them into OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and patted the saran on my nails. I've never done it before and even if you don't see this step, I can say I prefer the usual method where you add a coat of color over the first one, the remove some spots with saran wrap (as Nailed It explains in her tutorial).
So for my third color, I did the usual method, adding one coat of Color Club Gossip Column and then playing with the saran wrap :)

I already loved the manicure this way, but I decided it was time to try OPI The Man with the Golden Gun, which I bought back in february and never tried before. I used one coat of it, and played a little to place the gold leaves where I wanted them to be.
As OPI TMWTGG leaves a kind of satin finish, I finished the look with one coat of Seche Vite.

As I used SV between each color, it was very quick to create, and the result looks stunning imo. I'm really in love with those nails :)

Ce que vous allez voir aujourd'hui est une de mes manucures préférées de tous les temps ! Rien que ça :D
Quand je l'ai terminée, j'étais tellement enchantée du résultat ! J'ai adoré la porter, et je dois admettre ressentir une pointe de fierté cette fois-ci lol :)

Vous l'avez deviné avec le titre, il s'agit une fois de plus de la technique du film alimentaire ou Saran Wrap aux USA, mais cette fois j'ai travaillé un peu différemment.

J'ai commencé par une base beige avec le Kiko 319. Une fois sec, j'ai chiffonné des petites boules de film alimentaire que j'ai trempées dans My Boyfriend Scales Walls d'OPI, et que j'ai ensuite tapotées sur mes ongles, à la manière d'un sponging. Je n'avais jamais travaillé de cette façon avec le saran, mais même si vous ne voyez pas cette étape sur mes photos, je peux vous dire que je préfère de loin la technique habituelle où l'on peint une couche de couleur par dessus la première et qu'on enlève le vernis par endroits avec le saran (la technique de Nailed It, en fait).
Du coup, pour ma troisième couleur, j'ai repris ma technique préférée en posant Gossip Column de Color Club et en jouant ensuite avec le saran :)

Arrivée à ce stade, j'aimais déjà beaucoup le résultat, mais je m'étais mise en tête d'essayer The Man with the Golden Gun d'OPI que je n'avais toujours pas testé depuis son acquisition en février. j'en ai posé une couche, et j'ai un peu joué avec les feuilles d'or pour les placer là où je les voulais.
Vu que ce joli top coat laisse un film avec un fini un peu comme satiné, j'ai ajouté une couche de Seche Vite pour un résultat bien glossy :)

Cette manucure était vraiment rapide à faire (j'ai utilisé du SV entre chaque couleur) mais le résultat n'en est pas moins superbe à mes yeux. Oui, je suis amoureuse de ce look :)

Nude & Purple

Do you remember, a few months ago, when I was saying that I didn't like nude polish ? Well, lately, these have been growing on me and I seriously want to buy some of them ! It seems I totally changed my mind about them :)

I still wouldn't wear a nude shade on it's own, but it inspires me a lot of designs when used with another color, just like I did today with some purple holo stamping :)

I used Essence Hazelnut Cream Pie for the base, then stamped with Color Club Wild at Heart and Konad plate m78.

I'm still looking for a perfect cream nude (that Essence one has a pink shimmer), I hope I'll find it soon :)

Hello !

Si vous vous souvenez bien, il n'y a pas si longtemps j'affirmais ne pas aimer les vernis "nude". Et pourtant, ces derniers temps, ils m'attirent de plus en plus et j'envisage d'en acheter quelques uns :) Comme on dit, y a que les imbéciles qui ne changent pas d'avis ;)

Je ne voudrais toujours pas les porter seuls, mais j'ai quelques idées de nail arts associant un nude et une couleur plus flashy ou profonde, comme j'ai fait ici avec un petit stamping mauve holographique :)

J'ai utilisé Hazelnut Cream Pie d'Essence en base, et j'ai stampé avec Wild at Heart de Color Club et un motif de la plaque Konad m78.

De mon côté, je pars à la recherche du nude crème parfait (celui-ci a un reflet irisé rose), j'espère le trouver bientôt :)

Clouds in the Blue Sky

I should have been in a blue mood as this is the second blue mani I'll show you this week :)
I already told you in my butterfly mani post how much I love the Nailz Craze plates, so here's something you can do with the second plate: lovely clouds !

The base is two coats of Essence Sure Azure and the stamping is made with Color Club Cold Metal and obviously, plate NC02. Aren't these little clouds lovely ?

I also love the subtle foil look from the stamping polish, it's very pretty. The Foiled collection by Color Club is really perfect for stamping. It was released in fall 2011 but I know it's still available on some web retailers, so if you're a stamping fan, you should really give them a try :)

Hello les filles !


Je dois être d'humeur bleue, parce que c'est la seconde manucure de cette couleur que je fais en une semaine !
Quand je vous ai  montré ma manucure papillon, je vous avais dit à quel point j'aime les plaques de stamping Nailz Craze. Voici une autre possibilité de ces plaques: des nuages tout mignons !

J'ai utilisé deux couches de Sure Azure d'Essence en base, et stampé avec le Cold Metal de Color Club et bien sûr, la plaque NC02. Ces nuages ne sont-ils pas jolis ?

J'aime beaucoup le petit effet foil du vernis de stamping. D'ailleurs, la collection Foiled de Color Club est vraiment parfaite pour le stamping ! Elle est sortie en automne 2011 mais je sais qu'elle est encore dispo chez certains vendeurs en ligne, alors si vous êtes fans de stamping, vous devriez vraiment les essayer :)

(Too) Subtle Stamping

After my colorful butterfly nails from wednesday, I'm a bit disappointed to show you my latest manicure haha !
I wanted to do a tone-on-tone stamping, and it turned so subtle that I got fastly bored of it ... Seriously, I love subtle patterns as much as I love the in-your-face manicures, but this one was so discreet I could not even see the stamping in some lightings ! And obviously it was hard to capture ...

I used the beautiful OPI No Spain, No Gain as the base, and stamped a pattern from Bundle Monster plate BM312 with Color Club Hot Like Lava.

The final result isn't bad or ugly and I could wear something like that for a job interview or for an occasion where crazy nails don't fit, but it was a bit too boring for me ;)
Next time I'll use this pattern, I'll use more different colors !

Après ma manucure papillon de mercredi pleine de couleurs, c'est un peu difficile pour moi de vous présenter cette manucure lol !
Je voulais faire un petit stamping ton sur ton, mais c'était tellement discret que je m'en suis très vite lassée. Vraiment, j'aime les stampings un peu subtils autant que j'aime les couleurs qui pètent, mais là c'était tellement subtil que je ne pouvais même pas discerner le stamping dans certains éclairages ! Et évidemment, c'était assez chaud à prendre en photo ...

J'ai utilisé le beau No Spain, No Gain d'OPI en base, et j'ai stampé un motif de la plaque Bundle Monster BM312 avec Hot Like Lava de Color Club.

Le résultat n'est pas vilain, loin de là, je pourrais très bien porter ce genre de manucure pour un entretien ou une occasion qui ne se prête pas aux ongles flashy, mais là c'était juste trop ennuyeux à mon goût :)
La prochaine fois que j'utilise ce motif, je le ferai avec des couleurs qui tranchent plus !

In three years of blogging, I've never celebrated something with a manicure. It always came when I don't had time, or when I had something else planned ...
So today I'm very happy to pay a tribute to all my fellow American readers on this 4th of July !

At first I wanted to copy another blogger, Pshiiit, who did a great American flag using only stamping.
But once I came back home, I realised that I just don't have these plates ! How could I forget it ? I must be very tired haha :D
The only stars pattern I have is the one from Bundle Monster's first set, and it's made of stars of different sizes, far away from the even and well aligned stars from the USA flag ...
Anyway I decided to use it and go for something a bit unstructured, making my stripes with the sugar spun technique to make something uneven, too :)

My red base is Essence Applause, Applause, the blue accent is Color Club Cold Metal. I made the sugar spun with China Glaze Snow and the stamping with white Konad polish and plate BM 20.

I loved the result, I didn't plan at all to do this and thought I'd go more conventionnal but I'm glad of this interpretation of the American flag :)

Hé oui, me revoilà en français ... J'avais arrêté la traduction du blog suite à un gros manque de temps, mais je vais essayer de revenir dans la bonne vieille langue de Molière ;)

En 3 ans de blogging, je n'ai jamais fêté quoi que ce soit avec une manucure. Ca tombait toujours un mauvais jour, quand je n'avais pas le temps, etc ...
Aujourd'hui, je suis contente de rendre hommage a mes lectrices Américaines en ce Jour de l'Indépendance des Etats Unis !

Ma première "idée" était de copier Pshiiit, qui a fait un superbe drapeau américain tout en stamping.
Une fois à la maison, je me suis rendue compte que je n'avais pas les plaques nécessaires ! Comment ai-je pu l'oublier ? Je dois vraiment être fatiguée :p
Le seul motif étoilé que j'ai est celui du premier set de Bundle Monster, avec des étoiles de tailles différentes, ce qui ne colle pas trop aux étoiles identiques et bien alignées du drapeau américain ...
J'ai quand même décidé de l'utiliser et je me suis lancée dans quelque chose d'un peu déstructuré, en faisant mes lignes avec la technique "sugar spun" pour un résultat irrégulier !

J'ai utilisé Essence Applause, Applause pour le rouge, et Color Club Cold Metal pour l'accent bleu. Le sugar spun est fait avec China Glaze Snow, et pour le stamping j'ai utilisé un vernis Konad blanc et la plaque BM20.

J'ai beaucoup aimé le résultat, je n'avais pas du tout prévu ça et pensais faire quelque chose de plus conventionnel, mais je suis contente de cette interprétation du drapeau American :)

Pink Stamping with Red Angel plates

Here's a simple stamping I made last week. I've always loved the tone on tone stamping combos. It's subtle and sometimes you don't notice the design until you take a closer look, but that kind of stamping is always elegant imo :)

Now I have my beloved Red Angel plates and a part of the Foiled collection by Color Club, here's what I did:

Sorry for the cat hair ... I never seem to notice them until I edit my pics :(

I used Essence Let me in Pink for the base, than stamped the curves using Color Club Hot Like Lava and Red Angel plate 106, and of course added one coat of Seche Vite.

I liked that combo ... Do you like it, too ?

Sunday Stamping Challenge: Circles !

I hope you had a nice weekend :)

Last week's challenge on Adventures in stamping was to create a manicure with circles. I did it simple, but so blingy !

I used two coats of Color Club Sugar Plum Fairy for the base. This polish is totally crazy ! It's made of tons of slightly purple tinted holographic glitters. I don't have anything like that in my stash, when you look at it in the shadow, it has a light purple shade instead of the silver that kind of polish usually shows.

Then I top-coated it with Seche Vite to create a smooth base for stamping and stamped with plate M65 and Konad black polish. And ended by one coat of SV again :)

The plate used here isn't real Konad, it's from BornprettyStore but it has the same designs and a good quality. My stamp isn't perfect because I did it too fast, but with more concentration I could have made it look better :)

Quick post: Splatter Manicure

I hope your weekend is fine !
I have a very quick post for you today. I love splatter manicures since I discovered them and I made a few ones. This one turned out to be one of my faves, unfortunately I only got one good picture of it ><

For this one, I used my favourite white polish, China Glaze Snow, as a base. Then I applied the other colors with a straw :)
I used Ulta Celebutante, Color Club Gossip Column and another blue shade but I'm sorry I don't remember which one it was. My memory is so poor ! :p
I also added one coat of China Glaze Wireless but it was a bit too discreet.

That's all for today :) I know it's not a lot but I'm leaving right now for some shopping :p

Pink Wednesday: Splatter Manicure

Hi sweeties !

I'm sure you've seen this trend on other blogs these last days ... Splatter manicure !
I discovered it on Jen's Facebook page, and I immediatly ran to her blog to get more explanations on how she did. I found her tutorial, and in fact it's just sooo easy to do ! You just need a straw and the polish of your choice :)

Of course, I *HAD* to try that manicure by myself ...
I started with pale base polish, Color Club Who are you Wearing from their Rebel Debutante collection. Application was a real mess, it's sheer and very streaky. I had to use 3 coats, and as it was not drying fast enough, I added a coat of Seche Vite which helped to hide the streaks.
The result is quite good but it needed too much work imo !

Then I took my straw and chose two bright pink shades, Borghese Raspberry Sorbetto and China Glaze Ahoy ! And I did this:

I loved this manicure so much !! I can only thank Jen for her tutorial, now I have to try it with other colors :)

What I dislike the most is the big flat splatter on my left ring finger. I prefer when they are thinner, as on my right hand :p

Color Club - Wild & Willing

Hi dear readers !
Here's a polish I tried last summer. I really loved it, it's so special !
Wild & Willing comes from the Wild at Heart collection by Color Club (fall 2009). It's a stunning orange-y bronze shimmer with changing reflects of pink, green and gold. Very hard to capture, of course :p

Voici un vernis que j'ai testé cet été. Je l'ai adoré, il est si spécial !
Wild & Willing fait partie de la collection Wild at Heart de Color Club (automne 2009). C'est un bronze orangé étonnant, avec de multiples reflets roses, verts et dorés. Bien sûr, il est très difficile à photographier :p

It's a bit sheer, I used 3 coats for this result. But it's soooo beautiful you will forgive him that flaw :)
It also dries fast, but it tends to look like if it was used on the second wearing day - like almost every shimmer polish on my nails, a top coat would be a good deal.

Il est un peu transparent, j'ai utilisé 3 couches pour ce résultat. Mais il est tellement sublime qu'on lui pardonne ce défaut :)
Il sèche assez vite, mais il a tendance à paraître usé au bout de deux jours - comme c'est le cas pour la plupart des irisés sur mes ongles, une couche de top coat pourrait résoudre ça.

Did you see all those wonderful effects ? It's way better in real life !

First try with a dotting tool

Some weeks ago, I ordered some nail art stuff on Ebay: dried flowers, rhinestones and dotting tools !
I was wearing Color Club Love 'em, Leave 'em when I received my package, and I couldn't help to try te dotting tools :)
I received 5 dotting (for 2$) tools with 3 different sizes. I used all sizes to make those simple little flowers !

Il y a quelques semaines, j'ai commandé quelques accessoires de nail art sur Ebay: des fleurs séchées, des strass et des dotting tools !
Je portais Love 'em, Leave 'em de Color Club quand le colis est arrivé, et je n'ai pas pu m'empêcher de tester les dotting tools :)
J'en ai reçu 5 (pour 2$), avec 3 tailles différentes. J'ai utilisé toutes les tailles pour réaliser ces petites fleurs toutes simples :)

I used Mavala Organdi for the petals and dots, and a random gold polish without brand or name for the flower centers.
Dotting tools are really easy to use, it's a nice way to improve a manicure if you don't have a lot of time or, like me, no painting skills ;)

J'ai utilisé Organdi de Mavala pour les pétales et les pois, et un vernis doré sans marque ni nom pour le coeur des fleurs.
Le dotting tool est vraiment simple d'utilisation, c'est une façon sympa d'embellir une manucure si on a pas trop de temps ou si, comme moi, on n'est pas doué avec les pinceaux ;)

You'll easily find dotting tools on Ebay, they are usually sold by 5 and don't cost more than 3$ (and most of the sellers offer free shipping)

Color Club - Love 'em, Leave 'em

Hi all !
I hope your weekend was good ! I'm sorry I didn't have any time to post here, but this weekend it was the first birthday of my local Lush store and I spend two days of fun as they had organized some cool things such as a treasure hunt in the streets of Brussels, a flash mob, gifts, ... I went there with a group of friends and we won niiiice stuff from there :) It was a great moment :)

But now on with the polish ... As you may know, I loooove holos ! Love 'em, Leave 'em from Color Club Wild at Heart collection has been on my lemming list for a long time and now I'm glad to own it !

J'espère que vous avez passé un excellent weekend ! Désolée de n'avoir rien posté ces derniers jours, mais ce weekend a eu lieu le premier anniversaire de la boutique Lush que je fréquente et j'ai passé deux jours de folie car ils avaient organisé plein de choses sympa ! Une chasse au trésor dans les rues de Bruxelles, un flash mob, des cadeaux et goodies ... J'y suis allée avec un groupe d'amies et nous avons gagné pleiiin de petits choses sympa :) C'était un chouette moment ^^


Mais revenons aux vernis ... Comme vous le savez, j'adoooore les holos ! Love 'em, Leave 'em, de la collection Wild at Heart par Colo Club, était sur ma wishlist depuis un long moment. Je suis maintenant ravie de le poséder !

Love 'em, Leave 'em is a nude tint with a hint of gold and a wonderful holographic effect ! There was no sun when I wore it, so it looks very classical in the second pic above. I'll take pics again in the sun and update this post, but you can see some of the holo effects in the first pic. Believe me, it's really much more impressive in real life :)

Love 'em, Leave 'em est un "nude" avec une nuance dorée et un superbe effet holographique ! Il n'y avait pas de soleil quand j'ai pris ces photos, et dans la 2ème photo ci-dessus il à vraiment l'air classique. Je reprendrai des photos au soleil et mettrai ce post à jour, mais vous pouvez déjà voir une partie des effets dans la 1ère photo. Croyez-moi, il est vraiment impressionnant en vrai :)

The pic below is very bad (and I forgot to clean up my fingers) but it also shows holo effetcs :)

La photo ci-dessous est vraiment mauvaise (et on y voit que je n'ai pas nettoyé mes doigts après la pose du vernis), mais elle montre un peu les effets holographiques :)

It was my first try with a Color Club polish and I really loved the application and quality ! Now I'm waiting for Wild & Willing from the same collection :)
