Cloudy Gradient

Hi dear readers !

I'm not very satisfied with today's manicure. When I wore it, I liked it, but now I see the macro pics with the smudged white polish, I'm not sure to like it as much as before haha ! And I also noticed that I left an annoying cat hair on my index, what a bummer ><

Anyway, I still want to share it because I liked the idea and my color choice. If you watch your computer screen from far, maybe you won't notice the bleeding stamping and you'll like it, too xD

I started with a gradient made with three polishes: Flormar 429, China Glaze For Audrey and China Glaze Snow. Then I stamped with Konad white polish and Bundle Monster plate BM312, and finally added some China Glaze Snow on the tips with a sponge, for a cloudy effect.

In fact I'm a bit harsh with myself as I think this mani isn't bad, I'm just disappointed by the pictures :)

Je ne suis pas très contente du nail art d'aujourd'hui ... Quand je l'ai porté, j'adorais, mais maintenant que je vois les détails sur les photos en mode macro, je me rends compte que c'est loin d'être parfait, avec le stamping qui a un peu bavé et les poils de chat qui se sont tapé l'incruste ...

Ceci dit, je partage tout de même car j'aimais l'idée et mon choix de couleurs. Si vous regardez les photos de loin, vous ne verrez pas les défauts et peut-être que ça vous plaire aussi lol :D

J'ai réalisé un gradient de 3 couleurs: Flormar 429, China Glaze For Audrey et China Glaze Snow. Ensuite j'ai ajouté un stamping avec le vernis Konad blanc et la plaque Bundle Monster 312, et pour terminer j'ai remis un peu de Snow sur les bords libres avec une éponge pour l'effet nuageux.

En fait, je pense être un peu trop dure avec moi même, c'est pas si mal que ça. Je suis juste déçue par ces photos ^^

Marbled Tape Nails

A few weeks ago, the talented Lucy at Lucy's Stash showed a great and creative way to use crackle polish along with a tape manicure. You can check her manicure and tutorial here.

Some might consider that crackle polishes are out of trend, honestly I don't care about the trends and seasons, but maybe I'm a little bored by crackles and it's true that I haven't use them for a while now. So her idea made me want to get them out of their drawers and give them a second life :)

 

I started with Claire's Peaceful/Confident as the base. As this is a mood polish, I hoped it would add a subtle gradient to the whole stuff, but after applying it I noticed it doesn't change color anymore. I tried very hot and very cold water with no results, that's too bad ! I read on the web that some people had the same issues with "old" bottles of mood polishes, well mine are not that old but I guess the effect isn't supposed to last forever :( Anyway, the teal base was still pretty :)
Then I applied one coat of China Glaze Lightning Bolt from their Crackle collection. I topped it with a coat of Seche Vite.
When everything was dry, I taped my nails with striping tape and covered everything in black (Essence Fatal). I removed the tape, added another coat of Seche Vite and it was done :)

I really love that look ! Mine didn't come with the same marbled effect than Lucy's, but every crackle polish doesn't have the same effect.
I might try different color combos as I collected a lot of crackle colors in 2011 ^^

Il y a quelques semaines, la talentueuse Lucy de Lucy's Stash montrait une chouette idée pour recycler ses vernis craquelés, en les combinant à une tape manicure. Vous pouvez voir le rendu et un tuto ici.

Certaines considèrent que la mode du vernis craquelé est complètement passée, personnellement je me moque un peu des modes et des saisons mais je dois dire que je me suis un peu lassée des crackles et je n'ai plus utilisé les miens pendant longtemps. Son idée m'a vraiment donné envie de les ressortir et de leur donner une seconde vie :)

J'ai démarré avec deux couches de Claire's Peaceful/Confident en base. Vu que c'est un vernis "mood", j’espérais ajouter un dégradé subtil à l'ensemble, mais dès l'application j'ai remarqué qu'il ne changeait plus de couleur. J'ai testé l'eau très froid et très chaude sur mes ongles sans résultat, trop nul !! J'ai lu sur le net que d'autres personnes avaient rencontré ce problème, apparemment les vernis mood de Claire's n'ont pas une durée de vie énorme :/ Ceci dit, le turquoise de base est déjà très joli, ce vernis n'est pas encore bon pour la poubelle ;)

Ensuite j'ai appliqué une couche de China Glaze Lightning Bolt, le blanc de leur collection Crackle. J'ai ajouté une couche de Seche Vite et attendu que tout soit bien sec.
Enfin, j'ai fait mes motifs au striping tape, recouvert le tout de noir (Essence Fatal), enlevé le tape et top coaté le tout. Et voilà :)

J'aime beaucoup le résultat ! Sur moi, ça n'a pas fait le même effet marbré que chez Lucy, mais tous les crackles réagissent différemment.
Vu que j'ai stocké pas mal de couleurs de crackles en 2001, je pense tester quelques autres combinaisons ^^

Rainbow Stamping with Kiko Mirrors

Today I have another proof that Kiko Mirrors are perfect for stamping :)
I wanted to play with the different colors, I picked three of them and here's what I did !

I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the base, Kiko 624, 621 and 618 for the stamping.The pattern is from the Bundle Monster plate BM209.

I didn't try to mix the colors together on the plate for this one, I simply applied a line of each color, scraped and stamped. It all went very easy as the Mirrors have a metallic texture, which is perfect for stamping :)

Aujourd'hui, je vous apporte une preuve de plus que les vernis Mirrors de Kiko sont parfaits pour le stamping !
J'avais envie de jouer avec différentes couleurs, j'en ai donc choisi trois et voici ce que j'en ai fait.

J'ai utilisé My Boyfriend Scales Walls d'OPI pour la base, les Kiko 624, 621 et 618 pour le stamping, et la plaque Bundle Monster BM209 pour le motif.

Je n'ai pas essayé de mélanger les couleurs sur la plaque avant de racler, j'ai fait au plus simple ! Une bande de chaque couleur sur le motif, on racle, on tamponne, et voilà :)
En tout cas c'était vraiment facile à faire, vu que les Mirrors ont une texture métallisée, ça aide vraiment pour le stamping :)

Blue-Green Gradient Tape Manicure

Finally the summer seems to be here in Belgium, I hope this will last ! Even if i can't move a lot, I'm still very happy to get some sunlight in the garden, that's so great ! Now I'm sooo impatient to be on holiday in Spain next month ;)

For today's manicure I worked with some colors that will work great for sunny days, and did a blue/green gradient, using striping tape.

 I started to paint my nails in white with China Glaze Snow and added one coat of Seche Vite because I didn't want to wait for the base to dry haha !
Then I applied 3 little strands of striping tape on each nail and painted each part with the following colors, from the lightest to the darkest:
Essence - You Belong to Me
Zoya - Wednesdday
A England - Galahad
H&M - Moody Model

Later I added one coat of China Glaze Wireless, I wanted to see how it looked with an extra bling and I actually liked it:

I'm very happy with the result, it was exactly what I wanted to do.

On dirait bien que c'est enfin l'été ici en Belgique, pourvu que ça dure ! Même si je ne peux pas bouger des masses, ça fait un bien fou de voir le jardin ensoleillé et d'en profiter du mieux que je le peux. Par contre ça me rend encore plus impatiente d'être en vacances en Espagne le mois prochain ;)

Pour la manucure d'aujourd'hui, j'ai travaillé avec quelques couleurs parfaites pour la saison, et créé un dégradé de bleu/vert avec du striping tape.


J'ai commencé par poser une base blanche avec Snow de China Glaze, suivi d'une couche de Seche Vite pour ne pas devoir attendre le séchage complet de ma base.
Ensuite j'ai posé 3 petits bouts de striping tape sur chaque ongle et j'ai peint chaque section avec les couleurs suivantes, de la plus claire à la plus foncée:
Essence - You Belong to Me
Zoya - Wednesdday
A England - Galahad
H&M - Moody Model

Plus tard, j'ai ajouté une couche de China Glaze Wireless, je voulais voir ce que ça donnait avec un peu de paillettes, et j'ai bien aimé.

Sunday Stamping Challenge: My Favorite New Pattern

It's been a while since I entered a Sunday Stamping challenge ... But with the new Bundle Monster set, yesterday's theme inspired me ! We had to chose our new favorite pattern (from any set/plate) and my choice was quick: I stamped the paisleys from plate BM 315 !

I like paisleys a lot. It's the first time I feature some of them on my nails but I'm not ready to draw them with brushes, so that plate was really welcome ! Do I need to say I'm totally in love with the latest Bundle Monster set ?

Last week I got some polishes from China Glaze's On Safari collection to review, so I used Exotic Encounters as the base for my stamping.
Exotic Encounters was on my wishlist when the collection was announced, I was so happy that they sent me it ! It's a very pretty teal creme but it looks greener in my pics than in real life. The application was a dream, perfect in two coats, and it didn't stain on my nails after removal, which is very rare for teals on me !
It's probably not a unique color, but I didn't find any dupe for it in my stash. Another winner by China Glaze, now I can't wait to try the other colors they sent me :)
I stamped the paisleys from BM315 with China Glaze Hi-Tek and ended with one coat of Seche Vite.

See how the details of the paisleys are neat ? I already told it but I'm impressed with the new BM plates quality :)

Thanks again for all your recovery wishes ! I had to go to the hospital emergencies saturday for a severe pain under the cast and they had to remove it. Now I don't feel pain anymore, and tomorrow I have an appointment with the orthopedic specialist to get an aircast which will make my life easier. I still can't walk or drive for two weeks, but it gets better each day :)

Hello les filles !

Ca faisait un petit moment que je n'avais pas participé au Sunday Stamping Challenge ... Mais avec l'arrivée de mes nouvelles plaques Bundle Monster, le thème d'hier m'a inspirée ! Le but était de choisir son motif favori de n'importe quel(le) nouveau set/nouvelle plaque. Mon choix fut rapide: les paisleys de la plaque BM315 !

J'adore le motif paisley mais c'est la première fois que j'en ai sur les ongles, je ne suis pas prête pour le paisley dessiné à main levée ^^' Autant dire que cette plaque BM tombait à point. Euh, je dois encore vous dire à quel point j'aime ce nouveau set Bundle Monster ? :D

La semaine passée j'ai reçu quelques vernis de la collec' On Safari de China Glaze à tester, je me suis emparée d'Exotic Encounters comme base de stamping.
Exotic Encounters était sur ma wishlist depuis l'annonce de la collection, j'ai été ravie de le recevoir ! C'est un joli bleu-vert, qui tire un peu trop sur le vert sur mes photos, il est plus "teal" en vrai. Application de rêve, parfait en deux couches, et miracle, il n'a pas déteint sur mes ongles, ce qui est rare pour moi avec ce genre de teinte !
Bon, ce n'est pas une couleur unique, mais je n'ai rien de semblable dans ma collec' de teals, donc j'adopte !
Encore un gagnant chez China Glaze ... J'ai hâte de tester les autres couleurs !

Pour le stamping, j'ai utilisé Hi Tek de China Glaze, la plaque BM315 et j'ai terminé avec une couche de Seche Vite.
Les paisleys sont très détaillés et bien nets ! Je suis vraiment impressionée par cette nouvelle série de plaques et leur qualité :)

Qu'en pensez-vous ?

Je tenais à vous remercier à nouveau pour le soutien et les encouragements pour ma guérison ! Samedi j'ai dû aller aux urgences pour une douleur insupportable sous le plâtre, ils me l'ont enlevé pour éviter les risques d'embolie et je n'ai plus mal du tout depuis. Demain rendez-vous chez l'orthopédiste, on va me donner une orthèse qui devrait me faciliter la vie. Je ne peux toujours pas marcher ou conduire pendant deux semaines, mais je sens que c'est en bonne voie :)

Hits Hera & Flowers

I already showed you the wonderful holographic top coat from Hits, Hefesto, now let me show you another pretty guy from the collection, Hera !
I've been wanting this polish for a long time ... It's a gorgeous teal holo.

I wanted to add some stamping on this one, here's the result:

I did two coats of Hits Hera, stamped with white Konad polish and Red Angel plate 102, then added one coat of Seche Vite.

I like how the white pops over that color!
What about you, do you like it ?

Je vous avais déjà montré le superbe top coat holographique de chez Hits, Hefesto ... Aujourd'hui je vais vous montrer une autre beauté de la même collection, Hera !
Ce vernis, j'ai bavé dessus pendant des mois avant de l'avoir ... C'est un magnifique bleu-vert holo.

J'y ai ajouté un peu de stamping.

J'ai commencé par deux couches de Hits Hera, j'ai utilisé du vernis blanc Konad et la plaque Red Angel 102 pour le motif puis terminé avec une couche de Seche Vite.

J'aime comme le blanc ressort par dessus cette couleur !

A England Saint George

I'm sorry for the lack of posts this week but I fell ill and now I try to rest a lot. I hope it will be better very soon.

I have a perfect polish to show you today. Yes, really perfect ! You already saw it on almost every blog and I'm late with the trends as I don't hunt anymore for novelties (by that I mean I now take my time to chose what I'll buy instead of buying every new collection, as my stash is getting too big for me lol), but I couldn't resist to show you my own swatches of it...

So, here is the wonderful Saint George from A England !

Isn't it gorgeous ?

Now, why is it so perfect imo ?
- the teal shade is rich, deep, shiny ... nothing but pretty !
- it has scattered holo effect
- it applies like butter, I made two coats here but one could have been enough
- did I already said it was gorgeous ? :D

Seriously, I can't find any reason not to love that polish, unless you hate teals !

Beside of that, I love what Adina, the creator of the brand, did with her actual collections. I mean, her shades are magical like the legends they evoke, like if each polish had a story to tell.

I can also tell you that not only her scattered holos are great, but the formula of the cremes I tried is also perfect ! I had Guinevere and Galahad last week, I love them a lot and hope to show them to you soon :)

Beyu 325 & Stars

Here's a manicure I did a few weeks ago, when my interest for stamping came back suddenly :)
I used one of my favorite designs: stars from Bundle Monster plate BM20 ! It's really a simple design but I love star patterns a LOT ! :D

I used two coats of BeYu 325 for the base. "325" is a pretty dark gray with a teal shimmer. I didn't swatch it alone but believe me, it's gorgeous on it's own :)
I stamped the stars from BM20 with China Glaze Adore, and did an accent nail with my one and only Butter London polish, Henley Regatta, which is a beautiful polish made of blue and turquoise thin but dense glitters suspended in a clear base.

That was my first experience with Butter London and I loved it a lot ! As I said, the glitters are dense and you can make it opaque in two coats. The bad point is the price, I paid 16€ in Germany for this baby ... That was a special occasion but I'm not going to get a lot of those polishes ... But I was soooo weak when I saw this one in his rack, all alone and crying ! xD
