Flowery Spring Manicure
Hi dear readers !
Do you have a "dream manicure" ? I mean something you saw on someone else's blog and you really want to achieve by yourself ? I'm sure you do.
Well, when I saw this Flowery Spring Manicure by The Swatchaholic one year ago, it became my own dream manicure. I was SO in love with that stamped layering mani, those beautiful tone on tone flowers and I really needed to give it a try myself.
My only problem was the white she used for the stamping. It was not really opaque, which made it look like a very light mint on her nails, and I only had the very opaque white Konad polish.
Finally I decided to try all the whites from my collection (which is not a lot haha) and discovered that China Glaze Snow did a perfect job ! Wow, I had it for so long and only found out last week that it would help me in doing that manicure xD
At first I wanted to do a pink version of The Swatchaholic's manicure, but it was a kind of fail. I'll show you that fail next week and you'll understand ;)
So finally I went with the same colors as she used !
Not too bad, eh ?
I started with two coats of China Glaze For Audrey, then started the stamping layers. I used a coat of Seche Vite between each layer.
First layer is made with China Glaze Snow and Konad plate m60. I used the full paisley-like pattern from this plate.
Next layer is made with China Glaze Custom Kicks and the small flowers from Konad plate m60. The last stamping layer is made with Konad black polish and the same flowers from plate m60.
I topped the manicure with one coat of China Glaze Wireless for the bling :)
I'm really glad, my result is very close to The Swatchaholic's manicure, and that's what I wanted :) Obviously, our pics are very different but we don't have the same cameras and light settings ... I also don't have her photograph skills haha ;)
That was my first mani using so many layers of stamping, I love how it turned :)
What about you ? Do you like it ?
What is your dream manicure ? :)
Have a nice day ^^

Hello !

Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance
Hi dear readers !
Here's a quick post with Deborah Lippman Bad Romance. I had this lovely one a long time ago and wear it a few times, but never featured it here.
Of course, I couldn't leave it without some stamping ;)
Have a nice day :)
Here's a quick post with Deborah Lippman Bad Romance. I had this lovely one a long time ago and wear it a few times, but never featured it here.
Of course, I couldn't leave it without some stamping ;)
This is two coats of DL Bad Romance, stamping was made with Bundle Monster plate BM314 and China Glaze Hi Tek.
The next day, I wanted to try a matte version so I added one coat of China Glaze Matte Magic. It was ok but I'm not SO in love with matte nails so I wasn't really excited about it, but I'm sure some of you will like it ^^
What are your thoughts about this mani ? Do you prefer it matte or shiny ?Have a nice day :)

Hello :)

Stripes !
Hi dear readers !
I'm sorry I've been a bit away from the blog this week but I hope to be less busy soon :)
I have a striped manicure that I loved for you today ! If you've been following me for a while, you that I don't really appreciate beige and nude colors. Well, this might change haha :)
Here's what I did with beige, turquoise and of course, (a lot of) striping tape :)
I used Essie Turquoise & Caicos as the base, added striping tape when it was dry, painted all over with Kiko 319, removed the tape and top coated with Seche Vite.
Seems easy said like that, but this took a bit longer to do than my usual striping tape manicures ^^
Anyway, I had fun doing this and I loved the result, especially how that soft turquoise pops next to the beige !
As a bonus, here's a (crappy) pic of my striping process ...
I know some bloggers prefer to tape and paint one nail at time, but I find it tricky to add striping tape to a nail when the others are freshly painted. I prefer to tape all the nails on one hand, paint them all (I still remove the tape one nail at time and verify the tape placement before painting another one), then add some Seche Vite and wait for the first hand to dry so I can move to the other one with no accident :)

Hello !

Polka Dots Stipes Manicure
Hi dear readers !
Some weeks ago I told you that I really wanted to improve my use of the dotting tools, and I finally achieved a dotted manicure that I was proud of !
I saw this idea on Kayla Shevonne's blog, but the original manicure comes from a Youtube tutorial and was made by Pack A Punch Polish. As I'm not really into Youtube, I didn't know about that girl before, but trust me, you should really give her channel a visit :)
I used a combo that I love a lot for this, grey and purple !
I started with China Glaze Recycle as my base, then I added a coat of Seche Vite to make it dry faster.
I created sections on my nails, using striping tape, and made dots in each section, using different sizes of dotting tools and three shades of purple: Ulta Celebutante, Catrice Lucky in Lilac and Catrice Lavenderlicious.
I removed the striping tape and finished with a last coat of Seche Vite to seal the manicure.
When it come to capturing purples, I hate my camera, it does a real bad job and the colors were really more vibrant in real life. The lightest purple didn't appear white as well :)
But that's the problem with purple, a lot of cameras can't "see" it ...
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did :)

Hello !

Feather Manicure
Hi dear readers !
Today's mani is someething I wanted to try for a long time :)
I finally got some feathers from Born Pretty Store and decided to give them a try.
As the feathers I got had turquoise spots, I decided to use a brown polish for the base. These two colors work really well together imo, and the base made the turquoise pop on the nails :)
It was pretty in real life, but the macro shots show every single flaw, so I'm sorry if it doesn't look as good as it should be!
My base is China Glaze Street Chic. After it was dry, I added a coat of clear polish and stuck the feathers on my nails. I worked one nail at time, waiting for each to dry a little so I could cut the excess feather without moving it.
Cutting the excess was the part I disliked the most, it's not always easy to do, even with small scissors haha :)
I had to add two coats of Seche Vite because the feathers seemed to "drink" the top coat and one single coat didn't make them smooth.
You can find those feathers in 12 different shades on Born Pretty Store, and each bag of 5 feathers costs 1.35$. I only used one feather for this mani :)
And don't forget you can get a 10% discount on the whole site with my code, ayuumik31 :)
I hope you like it !

Hello !

Blue Saran Wrap Mani
Hi dear readers !
I have a very simple but stunning manicure for you today ! Well, I hope you'll think it's stunning :)
I really loved the result on this one !
I was going to make some saran wrap nails and use them as a base for stamping, but it turned out to be so gorgeous that I didn't want to add anything to them haha :D
The saran wrap technique is very simple and if you haven't tried it yet, you should really consider it ! It just needs a minimum of two polish shades and some saran wrap (or cling film depending where you're from ^^)
You can find a tutorial on Nailed It for this result.
I used Essence Sure Azure for the base color and Essence Walk on Air over it. Ended with one coat of Seche Vite to make it smooth and shiny :)
Maybe one day I'll do this mani again and stamp it, but this time I think it was gorgeous on its own :)
Do you like it ?

Hello !

Drip Manicure
Hi dear readers !
So, I introduced you to Jindie Nails Candy Land Remix wednesday, now it's time to show you the nail art I did on it :)
I decided to go for a drip manicure, I love these, especially when they include some glitter ! Then, they look like birthday cakes :D
It's my first try at this technique, but it was funny to create. I had to play with my tools but the final result isn't as bad as I expected ! I think it's even good haha ^^

It's my first try at this technique, but it was funny to create. I had to play with my tools but the final result isn't as bad as I expected ! I think it's even good haha ^^
I decided to play with China Glaze Urban Night this time. I started to apply a thin line on the nail tips, like you'd do for a french manicure, except I didn't try to get a perfect line.
With a dotting tool, generously dipped in Urban Night, I added dots above the "french" line and dragged to create the drip effect. Finally, I touched up all the curves with a thin brush to make them look better.
It's not perfect and you can easily see where my hand hesitated, but I'm happy with my first try ! It's also the first time I play with a detail brush... Perfection needs time and training, and maybe one day my drips will be as perfect as these :) (one can dream ^^)

Jindie Nails Candy Land Remix
Hi dear readers !
I didn't really jump on the indie wagon, mostly because I don't like to sit in front of an Etsy page at a given time, hoping I won't be cart jacked ... That's a bit discouraging to me ^^ The indie polishes I own were easy to find haha :)
But when I saw a Jindie Nails restocking including Candy Land Remix, I had to make the effort, I loved the swatches SO much !
So here it is, in all it's glory :)
Candy Land Remix is a white creme/jelly base filled with big and tiny neon glitters. I used three coats here, as you can see it was totally opaque. I had to fish for some bigger glitters and work a bit on glitter placement, but it was still easy to work with ! I'd advice to let the bottle sit upside down a few minutes before you use it, so the bigger pieces won't stay at the bottom.
Do you like it ? Do you own any Jindie Nails polish ? :)
To learn more about Jindie Nails, visit her blog, her Facebook page or her Etsy shop !
I made some nail art on it but I'll show you the result later this week ;)

Hello !

Chevron Stripes Nails
Hi dear readers !
About two weeks ago, I found a Youtube tutorial that I loved and needed to try. Her method consists in applying polish on tape, let it dry, cut stripes with normal or craft scissonrs and use the stripes just as stickers !
That sounds so easy, but I didn't have tape that day so I did it another way ^^ I loved the colors she used so I tried to pick close colors.
Here's how I proceeded. For this kind of manicure,my advice is to prepare the colors you need the day before, so you're sure your polish stripes are totally dry.
- Apply two thick coats of polish (here, brown and dark green) on a plastic sheet, allow to dry completely.
- Peel the polish from the plastic sheet
- Cut it with scissors or craft scissors if you want a cool wave or chevrons
- Apply your base color, let it dry
- Apply a top coat. While it's wet, put your polish stripes on. They stick immediatly to the wet polish so be precise and quick.
- Trim any excess with small scisssors or cuticule nippers, or clean the excess with a small brush dipped in polish remover
- Add top coat, you're done :)
I used Essence Speed of Light Blue for my base color, Essence Green Grass and China Glaze Brownstone for the stripes.
My stripes weren't perfect, my craft scissors are cheap and not really sharp. They don't even cut paper properly haha ! I might have to invest into better craft scissors :)
Anyway, the technique was fun and I'll do it again for sure. I especially like how I placed the stripes on my middle finger ! (but honestly, I don't like the job on my ring finger ;) )
If you want to see someone using this technique with better scissors (and maybe more precision lol) than mine, check Gnarly Gnails blog, she did a great job on these some days ago !
I hope you like it :)
Have a nice day !

Hello !
